I lifted this from the American Kennel Club's website:
"An ancient Japanese breed, the Shiba Inu is a little but well-muscled dog once employed as a hunter. Today, the spirited, good-natured Shiba is the most popular companion dog in Japan. The adaptable Shiba is at home in town or country."
He is a great traveling companion. He put up with five long days in a small spot in the back seat on the trek from Virginia to Arizona, sleeping in hotels (pet friendly) and eating fast food. Okay, he didn't seem to mind the fast food nearly as much as I did.
Our journey west began in early December from northern Pennsylvania. He might be missing the snow, but I am not.
