The 2019 25FBT Globetrotter was mine!
All I had to do was downsize from a 2,400 sq ft house to a 240 sq ft trailer and hit the road.
As I was tidying up medical and vision checkups, I was diagnosed with a macular pucker in my left eye, requiring immediate surgery. Putting off surgery to head to Scottsdale and pick up the Airstream seemed shortsighted, so off I went to surgery. A gas bubble in the eyeball (for vitreous fluid replacement), took me out of commission for 4 weeks while it dissipated. Who knew a person can’t even change altitude whilst a gas bubble is in one’s eyeball? Since traversing the Appalachians was required to get from Washington DC to Scottsdale, I was out of commission until the surgeon gave the okay. On Dec 9th permission was granted. On Dec 10th I was on my way.
Next up...the 5-day truck trek to Scottsdale.
